Following is an excerpt from "Violin Maker Carves a Niche,"
Detroit News, 1998.
How to buy an instrument
Violins can cost as little as a few hundred dollars
or thousands of dollars or more for the "old Italians," Thomas DeLuca said. But
it's possible to find a good one in any price range. DeLuca suggests:
| Become knowledgeable about the violin or other stringed instrument.
|
| Don't rely just on appearance. "Try before you buy," he said.
"Feel comfortable with it. It's kind of like falling in love. You just want to have
very good feelings about it."
